OUR STORY CONTINUES
As we enter 2022 the world remains uncertain and unsettled. The new Omicron variant is still extremely active an government bodies continue to observe and change restrictions as they feel required to keep our population safe. In our province students have been granted an extra week of winter break and many of the shows we have been registered for are either cancelled or uncertain if they will run. Some because the Corona situation has caused numerous supply shortages, some due to complete uncertainty. In many cases we need to decide if we participate in shows we are registered for or roll our fees forward. Challenges include things like a will we have a sufficient customer base to support the high fees of some of the larger shows. Many customers remain skeptic of attending shows for fear of them being too busy, many remain unable to attend if the facility is following the REP program and they continue to remain unvaccinated. As a result many small business, like ourselves, continue to rely on things like small local markets, store presence from those large chains that support small businesses and on-line sales. Your support to our small family owned business remains greatly appreciated.
WHAT’S NEW?
We have had a few changes happening over the past year. Hot Sauces: Although a very hard decision to make, we have decided to halt production of our hot sauces for the time being. Unfortunately due to supply issues and increased import and shipping charges the price of the peppers we use has sky rocketed to ridiculous prices. As many of you know our sauces are made unlike most commercial hot sauces. Our sauces are not fermented and are made with approximately 75% fresh peppers. They have minimal vinegar, no sugar, no fillers and absolutely no water. This means we use a lot of peppers to make our sauces resulting it it being far too costly to continue at this time. We will look at bringing these items back when supply issues return to an acceptable level.
New Product: We are very excided with the new line of products we have added to our production. We call them our Single Meal Seasonings. These items are meant to help make meal times easier! Many people are simply uncertain which seasonings are needed to come together for certain flavours and many, although are able to bring these seasonings together run short on time to bring them together or are missing one or two spices in their spice cupboard on something they only need a quarter or half a teaspoon of to make a special dish.
